May completely be user error. I for the life of me cannot figure this thing out. First, it's very big. My fault as I read the listing wrong and thought it was for medium sized dogs. Next I have to say, I've never used one of these car seat things before so please keep that in mind. I do absolutely love that it comes in a nice carrying case. I was impressed by that. However, putting it in the car.... well I gave up. It's in but not exactly all the way in because there are still extra straps hanging that I don't know what to do with and it kind of collapses and isn't sturdy at all on the side of the back of the drivers seat. My other question, how the heck do you get a big dog in here?
Like I said, this could be complete user error and I just have no idea what I'm doing. If you know how to install these things then maybe this would be awesome for you. Not the product for me though.

This was pretty confusing to put together - I'm not sure why this doesn't come with helpful instructions, I had to watch the video they have listed and make some assumptions from there. I don't really care for the strap that has to go around the front seat but it's what keeps the middle front up. It's helpful that there is a leash inside of this to keep the pet in place, but it is very easily loosened so my puppy pulled on it for a bit and was able to get it fully extended. I did end up having to clean this and it wasn't too bad. I couldn't put anything in the washing machine but I sprayed it down and wiped it off and that worked pretty well. Looking past these issues, this is really nice to have and I'll probably use this primarily for long drives.

This dog seat provides a sturdy seat for your small dog on car rides and long trips. We got this for our Mini Aussie and she loves it. Thanks to a previous reviewer I located the installation video before I tried assembly. That helped a lot in figuring out how it went together. With that accomplished it was relatively easy to assemble. Good quality materials & design at a reasonable price.

This car seat carrier has been such a godsend for my anxious dog. He used to be so jumpy in the car but is totally chill riding in this thing! The built-in strap keeps him safe and secure while he enjoys a nice view outside the window. Plus, the zippered side mesh not only allows for easy jump-on/jump off, but also for my kid to sneak an arm through for comfort hugs throughout the ride. He's medium sized and weighs about 25 lbs, so there's room for a cozy blanket and a toy for him to cuddle with too. Installation in our minivan was super simple. I was able to get this up in under 5 minutes after watching the instruction video. It's basically just insert the two side poles, then two straps around the backseat and a strap around the frontseat headrest. Breakdown was just as quick. I love that it also comes with a convenient carrying case.

This product is replacing one of those typical seat covers/slings that protects your backseat but doesn't protect your dog much. Everything was included in a nice storage/carry bag, except for instructions. I played around with the pieces until I figured out which orientation was correct. All the zippers are functional, so I hope they will hold up to the impact of a dog. The bottom of the seat is hard, which should protect car seats, and the included "seat belt" strap is a must for securing a dog. The size is large enough for our 65-pound mix, but I can see how a smaller dog may feel overwhelmed. I will travel with my dog more confidently, knowing that she has a secure area in which to ride.

It took awhile to attach it as it does not come with instructions. Once it was attached it was secure and held my little Boston Terrier and his fluffy bed comfortably. We had to be a little inventive however with all the straps and plastic clips as the driver seat is pushed all the way back (my husband is tall) and our SUV seats do not cover the entire bottom of the device. It slightly dips where the seat ends but the straps hold it up strongly enough. The two mesh sides can be zipped down if you wanted and there is plenty of visual for the pet to see out and around. The mesh is fine so the dogs nails could possibly rip it (just kesp that in mind). It has a seperate strap to also hook the pet into it (like a short leash). You could attach the device to a seat the wont move back and forth as often and perhaps to the middle seat even. Just keep in mind that this attaches to the back of the front seats and so if they are moved it will affect the tension holding it on. We also used this for grocery bags one time and it kept the bags secure so items didnt fall out while driving.

This was larger than expected! That being said, I have a jeep grand Cherokee and it fit okay in my car. One of the side panels kept bending, but I believe that was from transport, I will continue to watch it. It is secure and I think it will be nice to give my dog some more room to lay down while we travel. The current seat we have now isn't nearly as spacious as this one. It installed quickly, and we're taking our maiden voyage soon!

I mistakenly got this to use in the front, passenger seat of my car. I did not realize it needed to be hooked to both the headrest behind it & the headrest of the seat in front of it. Otherwise, it does not stand up on its own. (2nd pic) I installed it in a family member's Honda CR-v in the back seat and it fits perfect. It can be used for any size dog, but I would say it might be better suited for a 30-40lb dog. The dog I got it for (pictured) is only 18lbs & as you can see, it is huge compared to her size. The zip-down side panels are a great idea to make it so your dog can walk in and out of it rather than having to jump into it or be lifted in and out of it. Overall, this item is made well, but one issue I noticed is the straps you use to attach to the headrests & seat back are thin & really slick. The adjustment buckle slides too easily on them making them have to constantly be retightened.
