I was not sure about this mat because it didn’t have the gel or other interior substance like other cooling mats I had purchased before. However, my dog absolutely loves this mat and I love that I can throw it in the washer. Seriously he has been on it every day since I got it and I have been amazed at how cool it is. I have nothing bad to say. This mat feels so nice all the time. My dog seems to love it. He will actually sleep on it. Any other dog bed I have bought he will not go near. I think it does feel cool and our dog is a Husky German Shepard mix so he gets really hot, this cooling mat material is incredible it keeps cool without having to wet it, it’s amazing! I have no clue how this works, but it does. I have an old wheaten terrier who has allergy problems and it’s always itchy scratchy. He has been laying on this mat for the last three hours, which is unheard of. He is so blissfully relaxed. I’m ordering more to put in other rooms of the house. (By the way, he is 50 pounds and this is a XL mat.)
